Находится в штате Калифорния, крупнейшая на Западном побережье. Расположена в 40 км к северо-востоку от г. Сан-Франциско. Основана в 1854 как порт приписки 12 кораблей, которые в то время составляли весь Тихоокеанский флот [Pacific Fleet]. Сейчас судоверфь оборудована для строительства ядерных подводных лодок и ремонта кораблей всех типов
